Jamaica's Minister of Education, the Hon. Andrew Holness (centre), stops by the CHOICES Career Advice booth and chats with Angela deFreitas, general manager of CHOICES, and Dylan Higgins, a student of the Shortwood Practising Primary & Junior High School, at the Jamaica Conference Centre on Wednesday February 9, 2011.
CHOICES Career Advice is on board with the Ministry of Education's career awareness thrust for all primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.
We were at the official launch of this brand new initiative at which the Minister of Education, the Hon. Andrew Holness, outlined the details for those present, on Wednesday Feb. 9 at the Jamaica Conference Centre.
We as a company are pleased to be able to fully support this programme through our products which fit in pefectly with the Ministry's strategy -  publications, expos, seminars, workshops and presentations - and we look forward to continuing to build on the solid relationship which we already have with educational institutions in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
Our products are carefully targetted at each specific group for the age and stage which they are at dealing with a wide variety of subject areas.
We have everything students need to get them on track for career, education & life.

RESUME WRITING WORKSHOP FOR NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE PARTICIPANTS

Resume Writing was the theme of a very interactive presentation by CHOICES Career Advice for near 20 participants in the National Youth Service (NYS) programme. Their many questions on the subject were answered through the talk by Angela deFreitas, General manager of CHOICES, capped off by a video presentation on "Acing The Job Interview". They all left there with greater insights into just how to prepare a winning resume. Next time we will look at cover letter writing.
Thanks to Ms Sasha McCalla, vibrant guidance counsellor at NYS, for putting all arrangements in place.
